The Church of Christ Foundation was established in 1992 with proceeds from the sale of the property of the Azusa Church of Christ. Primary goals are to assist the Church of Christ in promulgating the teachings of the Bible through its congregations and related non-profit organizations for Christian education at elementary and secondary levels and other evangelistic and charitable organizations operated by members of the Church of Christ in Southern California primarily in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino and Riverside.

THE CHURCH OF CHRIST FOUNDATION

The Church of Christ Foundation is dedicated to the support of Church of Christ congregations in the Southern California area, primarily in worthy ministries to children for education, camping and pursuit of higher learning in colleges and universities associated with Church of Christ ministries.

The Church of Christ Foundation was begun in 1992 with proceeds from the sale of the property of the Azusa Church of Christ.

The initial goal was to insure that these funds furthered the purposes to which the congregation was dedicated: the spread of the gospel and supporting worthy ministries to those in need, especially children and the aged.

Since that time others have made gifts and plans for deferred gifts to the foundation. Gifts have included real estate and various forms of liquid assets: cash and securities.

In the establishment of the foundation, a commitment was made to the support of four specific ministries which had been supported by the Azusa congregation; such as the City of Children in Ensenada, Mexico. Sonrise Christian School in Covina, and Camp Tanda in Big Bear, CA. This commitment will continue as long as the foundation and those ministries remain.

In addition, the Board has established two educational grant programs, one for first year students attending colleges and universities associated with Churches of Christ, and a second program of grants and scholarships to Christian elementary and secondary schools and their students. These are made as earnings on investments allow.
